MatePal.com Achieves Truly Free Personals Through Volunteer Efforts

April 19, 2004--MatePal was started by William Kerr, a single native to South Florida who was disappointed with the many personals sites that claim to be free yet charge membership fees. Oftentimes when you sign up with a "partially free" personals service, relatively few people contact you because they have to pay to do so. It's not that you aren't worth the money, they just don't know whether or not they'll be able to get in touch with you if they pay. There are many window shoppers out there right now that just can't bring themselves to pay for something that's not guaranteed. The sad truth is that each time someone holds back, they miss an opportunity to develop a relationship. Love is just too important to burden with membership fees.

I was looking for a site that was truly free which specialized in matching Americans with locals of the opposite sex. I wanted a safe environment in which I could meet other singles without having to worry about strangers taking my email address and spamming it. On top of that, I wanted to find a site with a nice appearance that wasn't littered with junky advertisements. After searching for quite a while, I built it.

Currently the site displays no advertisements, generates no profit and is supported by volunteer efforts. It only takes a few minutes each day to review pictures and I feel great helping other American singles. I hope that MatePal is able to help you find your mate!
